The liquid vaccine containing serovars S1a, S1b, S2a and S2b of inactivated bacterium Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae to ensure active immunization of pigs against swine erysipelas.
Each one dose (2 ml) contains
Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae inactivatum ≥ 1 IU*.
IU*: antibodies amount interpreted by a number of IU in reference serum according to Ph. Eur. monograph.
oil emulsion NLT 0.30 ml,
saponin NMT 0.10 mg.
formaldehyde NMT 0.40 mg,
thiomersal NMT 0.20 mg,
solvent into 2.0 ml.
An active prophylactic immunization of pigs from 8 weeks of age against swine erysipelas. The immunity develops within 2 to 3 weeks after primary vaccination. Full immunity is achieved within 4 weeks after primary vaccination. The immunity persists for 6 months. To provide long-term immunity, revaccination of animals is recommended.
Do not use in animals with developed clinical signs of the disease, pregnant animals until 2 weeks prior to expected farrowing and 4 weeks after farrowing and in piglets up to 8 weeks of age.
Dosage and method of administration
The immunization dose per 1 animal is 2 ml, irrespective of sex and weight. The vaccine should be administered deep intramuscularly (i.m.) at the site of the neck, behind the ear.
The first immunization can be carried out starting from age of 8 weeks. The basic immunization scheme is primary vaccination. Revaccinations can be carried out in 6-month intervals. After primary vaccination, animals can be revaccinated after 2-3 weeks, mainly in a case of worsened infection situation. The immunity is extended by revaccination to 6-8 months. Pigs intended for breeding must be revaccinated at the age of 5‑6 months. For further maintaining of immunity, a revaccination every 6 months is necessary.
